$$ \psi = \frac{v}{L} \left( \frac{\delta}{1 + \frac{v^2}{gR}} \right) $$ where:

ψ   =   Yaw rate   (rad/s)

v   =   Vehicle's forward velocity   (m/s)

L   =   Wheelbase   (m)

δ   =   Steering angle   (rad)

g   =   Gravitational acceleration   (m/s²)

R   =   Turn radius   (m)


Assumptions



  • Dynamic load transfer is not considered.
  • The vehicle is treated as a rigid body with no suspension effects.
  • Tyre characateristics are ideal.
  • Road surface and load effects are neglected.
