Stagnation Temperature Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ T_0 = T \left( 1 + \frac{\gamma - 1}{2} M^2 \right) $$ where:

T0   =   Stagnation Temperature   (K)

T   =   Static Temperature   (K)

M   =   Mach Number   (Dimensionless)

γ   =   Ratio of Specific Heats   (Dimensionless)

Assumptions

  • The fluid is compressible.
  • The flow is isentropic.
  • The system is in steady-flow.
  • The fluid behaves as an ideal gas.
  • There is no external work or heat transfer.
