Carnot Cycle Net Work Done Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ W_{net} = Q_H - Q_C $$ where:

Wnet   =   Net work done during one cycle   (Dimensionless)

QH   =   Heat absorbed from the hot reservoir   (J)

QC   =   Heat rejected to the cold reservoir   (J)

Assumptions

  • The process is reversible.
  • Heat transfer is isothermal.
  • Compression and expansion processes are adiabatic.
  • Working fluid behaves as an ideal gas.
