Kutta-Joukowski Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ L' = \rho V \Gamma $$ where:

L'   =   Lift per unit span   (N/m)

ρ   =   Density   (kg/m³)

V   =   Flow velocity   (m/s)

Γ   =   Circulation   (m²/s)

Assumptions

  • Flow is steady and two dimensional.
  • Fluid is incompressible.
  • Foil is thin.
  • Viscous effects are ignored.
  • There is no flow seperation.
