Flow Stress Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ {\sigma}_f = K \cdot {\epsilon}^n $$ where:

σf   =   Flow Stress   (MPa)

K   =   Strength coefficient   (MPa)

ε   =   True strain   (dimensionless)

n   =   Strain hardening exponent   (dimensionless)

Assumptions

  • The material is isotropic and homogeneous.
  • Deformation occurs at a constant temperature
  • The deformation is plastic.
  • Strain rate does not significantly influence flow stress.
