Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ F = G \frac{m_1 m_2}{r^2} $$ where:

F   =   Gravitational force between two masses   (N)

G   =   Gravitational constant   (6.674 x 10-11 m3kg-1s-2)

m1   =   Mass of object 1   (kg)

m2   =   Mass of object 2   (kg)

r   =   Distance between the centers of the two objects   (m)

Assumptions

  • The objects are treated as point masses.
  • The mass distribution of the objects are spherically symmertric.
  • The bodies are in vacuum conditions.
  • The masses are not acceleration (i.e. calaculated at an instance in time).
