Spindle Power Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ P_s = \frac{F_e \cdot v_e}{60 \cdot \eta } $$ where:

Ps   =   Spindle power   (W)

Fe   =   Cutting force   (N)

ve   =   Cutting speed   (m/min)

η   =   Efficiency of the spindle drive   (typically 0.7-09)

Assumptions

  • Cutting conditions remain constant.
  • Tool engagement/disengagement are not considered.
  • Heat and friction effects are ignored.
  • Properties of the material are unifrom.
