How This Is Calculated


$$ K = \frac{t}{T} $$ where:

K   =   K-factor   (dimensionless)

t   =   Distance from the inside surface to the neutral axis   (m)

T   =   Material thickness   (m)


Assumptions


  • The material properties are uniform.
  • The bend radius is constant throughout the bend.
  • The thickness of the material is uniform.
  • Springback is not considered.
