Carburetor CFM Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ CFM = \frac{CID \cdot RPM \cdot VE}{3456} $$ where:

CFM   =   Cubic feet per minute   (cfm)

CID   =   Displacement in cubic inshes   (in³)

RPM   =   Maximum revolutions per minute   (RPM)

VE   =   Volumetric efficiency   (RPM)

Assumptions

  • Air-fuel mixture is ideal.
  • Volumetric efficiency remains constant.
  • The engine is four stroke.
  • Torque remains constant across RPM range.
