Capacitance Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ C = \frac{Q}{V} $$
where:

C   =   Capacitance   (F)

Q   =   Charge   (Q)

V   =   Voltage   (V)

Assumptions

  • There is a linear charge-voltage relationship (capacitor behaves ideally).
  • The electric field between plates is uniform.
  • Fringing effects are ignored.
  • No external electric field are influencing the capacitor.
