Acceleration Along a Runway Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ a = \frac{dV}{dt} = \frac{Y-D-F}{m} $$ where:

a   =   Acceleration along the runway   (m/s²)

T   =   Thrust   (N)

D   =   Aerodynamic drag   (N)

F   =   Rolling resistance due to friction   (N)

m   =   Mass of the vehicle   (kg)

Assumptions

  • Aircraft is in steady-state flow conditions.
  • Flow is incompressible.
  • The runway is horizontal.
  • Wing behaves as a two-dimension airfoil.
  • Ground effects are neglected.
