Rolling Resistance Calculator

How This Is Calculated

F=μ(WL) where:

F   =   Friction force   (N)

μ   =   Coefficient of friction   (dimensionless)

W   =   Aircraft weight   (N)

L   =   Lifting force   (N)

Assumptions

  • Coefficient of friction remains constant.
  • Dyanmic effects are negligible.
  • The relationship between force and load is linear.
  • There is no slip between the wheel and surface of the road.
  • Lifting force remains constant and vertical.
