Torque on a shaft Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ T = F \cdot r $$ where:

T   =   Torque on the shaft   (Nm)

F   =   Force applied   (N)

r   =   Radius at which force is applied   (m)

Assumptions

  • The shaft is a rigid body.
  • There is no fricition where the force is applied.
  • The force is applied uniformly and perpendicular to the radius.
  • The relationship between the torque and force applied is linear.
