Pressure and Temperature Isentropic Relationship Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ \frac{p_2}{p_1} = {\left(\frac{T_2}{T_1}\right)}^{\frac{\gamma}{\gamma - 1}} $$ where:

p1   =   Initial pressure   (Pa)

p2   =   Final pressure   (Pa)

T1   =   Initial Temperature   (K)

T2   =   Final Temperature   (K)

γ   =   Ratio of Specific Heats   (dimensionless)

Ma   =   Mach number   (dimensionless)

Assumptions

  • The process is adiabatic.
  • No shock waves are present.
  • The flow is steady and isentropic.
  • The fluid behaves as an ideal gas.
  • Body forces are negligible.
