Stagnation Pressure Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ \frac{p_0}{p} = \left( 1 + \frac{\gamma - 1}{2} M^2 \right)^{\frac{\gamma}{\gamma - 1}} $$ where:

p0   =   Stagnation Pressure   (Pa)

p   =   Static Pressure   (Pa)

M   =   Mach Number   (Dimensionless)

γ   =   Ratio of Specific Heats   (Dimensionless)

Assumptions

  • The process is adiabatic.
  • No shock waves are present.
  • The flow is steady and isentropic.
  • The fluid behaves as an ideal gas.
  • Body forces are negligible.
