Torque Relationship Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ T_{driven} = T_{driver} \cdot i $$ where:

Tdriven   =   Torque on the driven gear   (Nm)

Tdriver   =   Torque of teeth on the driving gear   (Nm)

i   =   Gear Ratio   (Dimensionless)

Assumptions

  • There are no energy losses (the gears are ideal).
  • The gears are rigid and do not deform under load.
  • The gear ratio remains constant.
  • Backlash is negligible.
