Ventillation Rate Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ Q = A_{vent} \cdot \sqrt{\frac{2 \Delta P}{\rho}} $$ where:

Q   =   Flow Rate (m³/s)

Avent   =   Area of the ventillation opening   (m²)

Δ P   =   Pressure difference caused by wind   (Pa)

ρ   =   Density of air   (kg/m³)

Assumptions

  • The system is in steady-state.
  • Negligible influence of air leaks.
  • The flow is steady and isentropic.
  • The fluid behaves as an ideal gas.
  • Thermal stratification is ignored.
