Power Transmitted Through a Shaft Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ P = \frac{T \cdot \omega}{\eta} $$ where:

P   =   Power   (W)

T   =   Torque   (Nm)

ω   =   Angular Velocity   (rad/s)

η   =   Efficiency   (between 0 and 1)

Assumptions

  • There are no axial or bending loads.
  • The system is in steady state.
  • The shaft is perfectly aligned with the load and driving element.
  • Damping effects are neglected.
