Density and Temperature Isentropic Relationship Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ \frac{\rho_2}{\rho_1} = \left( \frac{T_2}{T_1} \right)^{\frac{1}{\gamma - 1}} $$ where:

ρ1   =   Density at point 1   (kg/m³)

ρ2   =   Density at point 2   (kg/m³)

T1   =   Temperature at point 1   (K)

T2   =   Temperature at point 2   (K)

γ   =   Ratio of Specific Heats   (Dimensionless)

Assumptions

  • The process is isentropic.
  • Specific heat ratio remains constant.
  • The system is in steady-flow.
  • The fluid behaves as an ideal gas.
  • Fluid is homogeneous.
