How This Is Calculated



$$ C_T = \frac{T}{\rho n^2 D^4} $$ where:

CP   =   Thrust Coefficient (Dimensionless)

T   =   Thrust produced by the propeller   (N)

ρ   =   Density of fluid   (kg/m³)

n   =   Rotational speed of propeller   (rev/s)

D   =   Diameter of the propeller   (m)


Assumptions



  • The system is in steady state.
  • Fluid is incompressible.
  • The flow is at the propeller disk is uniform.
  • The fluid behaves as an ideal gas.
  • There are no propeller interaction effects.
