Heat Transfer Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ q = m C_s \Delta T $$ where:

q   =   Heat transfer   (J)

m   =   Mass of substance   (kg)

Cs   =   Specific Heat Capacity   (J/kgK)

Δ T   =   Change in temperature   (K)

Assumptions

  • No phase change occurs.
  • Specific heat capacity remains constant.
  • Temperature distribution is uniform (there are no temperature gradients).
  • Heat loss to surroundings is negligible.
