Engine Displacement Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ D = \pi \cdot \left(\frac{b}{2}\right)^2 \cdot s \cdot N $$ where:

D   =   Engine displacement   (m)

b   =   Bore   (m)

s   =   Stroke length   (m)

N   =   Number of cylinders   (Dimensionless)

Assumptions

  • Piston motion is ideal.
  • Combustion volume remains constant.
  • The engine is four stroke.
  • Dead volume is neglected.
