Frictional Torque Calculator

How This Is Calculated

$$ T_f = \mu \cdot F_r \cdot r $$ where:

Tf   =   Frictional force   (Nm)

μ   =   Coefficient of friction   (N)

Fr   =   Radial load   (N)

r   =   Radius of the bearing   (m)

Assumptions

  • There are no energy losses.
  • The radial load is constant.
  • The coefficient of friction remains constant.
  • The effects of lubrication are ignored.
